Anyone who believes that fine wine only comes from France or Italy hasn’t been paying attention lately. Dutch wine is on the rise – fresh, refined and increasingly earning international acclaim. With dozens of vineyards across Limburg, Gelderland, and Brabant, the wine culture in the Netherlands is growing faster than ever.During the WTOL Dutch Wine Weekend, you travel to the heart of the Limburg hills to taste the finest home-grown wines. From the historic Apostelhoeve to the pioneering Wijngaard Sint Martinus – you will meet the winemakers, taste their passion and discover how terroir and climate harmonise here to create world-class wines.

The Dutch Wine Weekend combines tasting, learning and enjoyment. You will visit several Limburg vineyards, enjoy guided tours by experienced winemakers and indulge in lunches and dinners where local dishes and Dutch wines perfectly complement one another.Throughout the weekend, you will taste a diverse range of styles: sparkling, white, rosé, and red – all produced in the Netherlands. Who is this trip suitable for?

For everyone who loves wine – whether you are a professional, a sommelier, or an enthusiastic beginner. The trip offers deep insights but is, above all, sociable and relaxing.

Which vineyards do we visit?

WTOL partners with renowned winemakers such as Apostelhoeve (Maastricht), Domaine Salamander (Eys) and Wijngaard Sint Martinus (Vijlen). Please note that the itinerary may vary depending on availability.

What do I learn during the weekend?

You will learn how viticulture is developing in the Netherlands, which grape varieties are suitable for our climate and how to assess wine professionally. You will taste a diverse range of styles and discover how quality and character distinguish themselves here.

Does the weekend include accommodation and meals?

Yes. The price includes an overnight stay with breakfast, group lunches and a four-course dinner with a wine pairing. Only personal expenses and insurance are not included.

How big are the groups of people?

Groups are kept small (averaging 10–20 people) to ensure plenty of personal attention and to allow everyone to participate comfortably in the tastings.

Will I earn CPD points for participating?

Yes, participants earn 6 CPD points for the SVH Register Vinologist/Sommelier (Category A).

Do I have to arrange my own transport?

WTOL provides transport between the vineyards and accommodations. You are responsible for your own travel to the starting location in Limburg.
