SVH Hospitality Mentor Online combines live lessons with independent study. You don’t need to travel to a teaching venue, but you do have regular sessions with a tutor and continue working on the e-learning modules and your portfolio between lessons.
You will attend three online sessions via Zoom. Each session runs from 10.00 to 13.00 and is delivered live by a tutor. The online sessions take place every other week. This gives you plenty of time in between to put the material covered into practice and continue working on your assignments.
Through the online learning environment, you will study the theory independently and prepare for the lessons and the exam. Your e-learning licence is valid for 4 months. In addition to the online lessons, you should allow for around 32 hours of self-study.
This online course is designed for professionals who supervise apprentices, trainees or new staff and wish to acquire the relevant knowledge and an officially recognised qualification.
The course is tailored to everyday practice in the hospitality industry. Throughout the programme, you will actively work with situations from your own working environment and build a portfolio that demonstrates how you mentor students.
To take part, it is important that you have sufficient practical experience to be able to complete the assignments and the portfolio.
The course prepares you for the official SVH Hospitality Mentor examination. This allows you to demonstrate that you have not only mastered the theory, but are also capable of providing professional guidance to students.
Throughout the course, you will build up a portfolio demonstrating how you carry out the various tasks of a mentor.
During a practical role-play, you will demonstrate how you guide, coach and communicate with a student in various real-life situations.
You complete the theoretical part with an exam consisting of 30 multiple-choice questions.
Once you have successfully completed all three parts of the exam, you will receive the official SVH Mentor in the Hospitality diploma and the accompanying Master Trainer pin.
Having a qualified practical trainer within your organisation means you fulfil an important part of the requirements for becoming an accredited training organisation. The accreditation of the training organisation itself is applied for and assessed via SBB.

The Foundation Examination Board is an independent institution that supervises professional qualifying and/or function-oriented exams. The Examination Board has conducted various audits and found that the SVH exams meet the requirements.
This way we ensure that the quality of your SVH certificates and diplomas is additionally guaranteed.
The online course consists of three live online sessions, each lasting 3 hours, supplemented by self-study via e-learning and the creation of your portfolio. The total duration depends on your own pace, but the e-learning licence is valid for 4 months, so you’ll have plenty of time to complete everything.
Yes. The SVH Hospitality Mentor Online Course is delivered entirely remotely. The lessons are taught live online via Zoom, combined with e-learning and an online exam. So you don’t need to travel to a physical location.
Yes. The qualification you obtain through the online programme is the same official SVH Hospitality Mentor qualification as that awarded through the classroom-based course. The exam meets the same SVH requirements and carries the same weight in terms of recognition as a training organisation.
No, that’s not mandatory! But… a successful course/training or education should be crowned with a meaningful diploma, the irrefutable proof that you have a certain level of knowledge. Theoretical and experimental frameworks.
Theoretical and experimental frameworks apply to both the SVH and SDEN exams. A plus applies to the SVH exams, which means extra content on practical applicability. This extra content relates to everything an employee in the hospitality industry needs to know within certain functions in order to be able to give good advice to the guest. But also the hobbyist at home, who wants to know more about wine and food.
The SVH Hospitality Mentor examination consists of three parts:
Portfolio (you’ll be working on this during the course)
Role-play: Coaching & Guidance (oral practical exam)
Written theory exam comprising 30 multiple-choice questions
Once you have completed all the modules with a pass mark, you will have passed.

De SVH Leermeester Online Cursus bestaat uit een combinatie van live online lessen, zelfstudie via e-learning en een online examen.
Indeling van de online lessen
(Let op): De lesdagen zijn om de week. Tussen de lesdagen door werk je in je eigen tempo aan het e-learningprogramma en je portfolio.
Tijdens de cursus ontwikkel je alle vaardigheden die nodig zijn om leerlingen professioneel te begeleiden binnen een erkend leerbedrijf. De focus ligt op praktische toepasbaarheid, ook in een online setting.
